    A time for everything !

1 Corinthians 4:5 - Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will bring to light what is hidden in darkness, and who will manifest the purposes of hearts. Then each will receive from God the praise that is due to him.

We do not know if this is the effect of a super fast society, but waiting for the right time to balance sheet seems increasingly difficult. Everyone expects immediate results. Taking the time little by little, acting with perseverance, seems to be from another age. The way to take stock is also wrong because it is based on skewed data : popularity, number of followers, "likes", shares... If that's the way of the world, so be it ; but in the Kingdom of God all this is nothingness, the pursuit of the wind.

If you ever get the chance to chat with a non-Christian manager, ask them for their opinion on this. A business leader invests himself for more than three years in a few hundred employees, he spends a lot of time coaching them on how to move the business forward. At the end of these years, there are only a small handful of employees left who no longer have any confidence in its success. What's your record ? After his response, tell him that the company is over two millennia old and has billions of satisfied customers with its products. I know, as a parable it's not great, but at the death of Christ, who could have imagined what happened.

Let us disregard those who were mistaken in their call because there, it is obvious that the blessing cannot follow. But this thought is there to challenge us not to look at appearances because the assessment will be done at the time chosen by God as our basic text tells us. "For you need perseverance, so that after having accomplished the will of God, you may obtain what is promised to you," Hebrews 10:36 tells us !

Let us take the time to persevere because the plans of God do not keep pace with the plans of the world. The Lord takes the time, normal He is in eternity, for his work to be completed. And this work is not in results, as we might think, but in life transformed from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18). "Doing it" will always have only one purpose for Him, to make us become. For in order to "do it" He does not need us, but He "needs" that we become like Him in order to pour out His fullness in us.

Isn't this a beautiful program my beloved ? "As He is, such are we also in this world” (1 John 4:17).

    Good reflection.
