A wonderful godsend

Searching the Scriptures

Blessed be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to his great mercy, has regenerated us, to a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, for an inheritance which cannot be nor corrupt, neither defile, nor wither, which is reserved for you in heaven. 1 Peter 1.3-4

Danish actor Helmut Larsen was visiting New York City when a heavy downpour struck. He then entered a church on 8th Avenue just as a funeral was taking place. At the end of the service, he was asked to write his name and address on the register, which he gladly did.

A few days later, he received an unexpected letter from a lawyer informing him that the deceased, a multimillionaire, had decided to share his fortune among all who would attend his funeral. This is how Larsen became heir in spite of himself. This unexpected legacy greatly favored his career.

Each one can receive, if he has not yet received it, the part of an infinitely more precious inheritance and of another order : that which comes from the fact that the Son of God, creator of the universe, died for us. in Golgotha.

For God desires that all men pass from darkness to light, be delivered from the power of Satan and receive forgiveness of their sins. There is an inheritance in heaven for all who belong to it.

This is what awaits us : "He that sitteth on the throne will pitch his tent over them ; they will not hunger any more, they will not thirst any more, and the sun will not strike them, nor any heat. For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will rule them and lead them to the fountains of the waters of life, and God will wipe out every tear from their eyes."

Listen the voice of God

Let’s take the time to listen to what God means. Do you have this assurance of salvation ? If not, ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to Christ now.

Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, thank you for revealing yourself to me and because one day I will be with you forever. I pray for all those who do not know you, so that they too can receive this share of divine inheritance by accepting Jesus as Savior in their life. Amen !"

Praise God

To praise God is to show him our gratitude. What are your subjects of recognition today ? Take a moment to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our route for the day comes to an end. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Lord, thank you for this divine inheritance which you have in store for me in the heavenly places. Yours is the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
