    Back to the source

They abandoned me, I who am a source of living water, to dig for themselves cracked cisterns that do not hold water. Jeremiah 2.13

To show the importance of the condition of our souls, God draws a parallel between our need to listen to him and our need for water. It is essential for the survival of humanity, but we realize that we are polluting it, that we are destroying the available reserves.

Society is abandoning God and desperately trying to replace him. For example, we are witnessing the development of shelves of books on esotericism and various spiritualities. But as a cracked cistern gives hope for water, but is empty, the real hope that our souls need does not come through these mirages. The little water left out is polluted with sin.

Let's go back to the true source, to the one who made our soul : he is the most qualified to take care of it !

The Bible declares that with God is the source of life (Psalm 36:10). Not just because he created it, but because rebellion and sin resulted in the death of our souls; God is the only one who can restore them to life. The Lord announces : To him who is thirsty, I will give of the fountain of the water of life free of charge (Revelation 21.5). The source of new life is accessed through Jesus Christ. To all who put their faith in him, he opens the source of salvation, the pure, life-giving and thirst-quenching water that our souls need.
