    Don't adopt a grasshopper mentality ! (2)

“These men were descendants of Rapha who lived in Gath. They fell under the blows of David and his servants.” 1 Chronicles 20. 8

When you encounter a giant, either your faith drives you to defeat it, or your fear drives you away ! The Israelites perished less than twenty miles from the Promised Land, busy driving around in circles ! Why did they waste their time doing this ? Because they had seen giants and beside them they had taken themselves for grasshoppers. Before enjoying what God shows you and what He promises you, you must first defeat your giants. You have the strength to do it, but do you have the desire ? Joshua and Caleb were the only ones who dared want to fight. A powerful faith risks isolating you from the majority of Christians ! Listen : “The whole congregation of the Israelites murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness. The Israelites said to them : Why did we not die by the hand of the Lord in Egypt ? (Exodus 16. 2-3). If you want to follow God in the path He has planned for you, sometimes you will have to stand up against the opinions of others. But who are these people who suffer from a grasshopper mentality ?

1- People who constantly complain about the injustices of life, dwelling on events where someone has apparently wronged them or misunderstood them. For them Paul wrote these lines : “Suffer with me as a good soldier of Jesus Christ” (2 Timothy 2. 3).

2- People who are always looking for excuses to explain their lack of success. They do not even hesitate to criticize those who walk from victory to victory with Christ. For these Paul wrote : “In all things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).

3- People who complain that they have not received what they asked for instead of concentrating their efforts on the task entrusted to them. To these Peter affirms : “His divine power has given us all that is necessary for life and godliness by making known to us him who called us by his own glory and by his power” (2 Peter 1: 3). Get to know God better : the best relationships are born of prolonged encounters and deep intimacy. Thus does one transform a mentality of a grasshopper into a mentality of a killer of giants !
