(Jesus says) : If you knew me, you would also know my Father... He who has seen me, has seen the Father... The Father who dwells in me, it is he who does the works. John 14. 7-10

Jesus of Nazareth, who went from place to place doing good and healing all those who were under the sway of the devil. Acts 10.38

If you want to know... (2)

By reading the Gospels, we discover God, incarnate in the person of his Son. We see Jesus :

    - in the face of illness : "He heals all the sick... He took our infirmities and took on our illnesses" (Matthew 8. 16, 17).

    - in the face of mourning : "Jesus seeing her cry (Mary)... quivered in his spirit, and was deeply moved... Jesus wept" (John 11. 33-35).

    - in the face of hungry crowds : "I am moved with compassion for this crowd, because they have been with me for three days now, and they have nothing to eat. If I send them home on an empty stomach, the forces will be missed on the way; for some of them have come from afar" (Mark 8:2, 3).

    - in the face of small children : "They brought him small children to touch them... Then he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them" (Mark 10. 13-16).

We could multiply the examples !

Could it be claimed that God from heaven contemplates with indifference the sick who suffer, those who go through mourning, the multitudes who are hungry, or the little children who suffer ?

No ! But, since his sin in the Garden of Eden, man has turned his back on God, and reaps the sad consequences. The world has chosen Satan as its leader (John 14:30). He is a cruel master, not knowing love, and he pushes man to revolt against God.

To know who God is, contemplate the life of Jesus, his attitude in front of our sufferings... It is the answer to those who accuse God of the misfortunes of humanity.
