Learn the value of the engagement (1)

"That's why I run with my eyes fixed on the goal." 1 Corinthians 9. 26

If you want to fulfill God's intended destiny for your life, you must live up to your engagement to Him every day. Why is this so important ?

1- If you make such an important engagement, your life will never be the same ! Frédéric Flach wrote : “Most people remember very well when and where they felt their life was taking a whole new direction. Whether by conscious choice or due to a combination of circumstances, it was at this moment that, driven both by an obscure desire within them and by the present situation, they felt compelled to reorganize their life and to reassess their attitudes in order to make the decisions that would accompany them for the rest of their lives.”

2- Your engagement to Christ will be tested every day ! Many Christians consider their engagement to be a fleeting event, like the “yes” they said on their wedding day or the handshake that seals a deal between two men. It's like buying an exercise bike at the beginning of January to get back in shape and leaving it in the garage in February, because the exercise is too much effort ! If you make any engagement, the daily testing will be inevitable or your engagement will be of no value.

3- Your engagement will help you overcome the many obstacles in life. Maltbie Babcock said : “The most common and far-reaching mistake is to imagine that success requires genius, a miracle, or some extraordinary talent that is foreign to us. Rather, success is the result of persistence and refusal to give up. You have to decide whether to learn a foreign language or play a musical instrument. You need to make a engagement that maybe will lead to success. It all depends on your persistence. Success is the result of a decision followed by the will not to surrender !"
