Let's stay under the rays of the love of God

You, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life. Jude 20.21

God showed the measure of his love for us by not sparing his only begotten Son when he atoned for our sins on the cross. He loves us today with the same intensity as then. This love is immutable, like God himself.

The growth of the Christian, his construction, is linked to his enjoyment of the love of God for him. It is like a plant which, in order to develop, must benefit from the rays of the sun. To keep ourselves under the warm rays of God's love, let us obey three pressing invitations :

Let us edify ourselves on our most holy faith : It is an imperative necessity for the children of God to meet regularly in order to edify one another. Edification is sharing one's experiences of God's grace, and together praising our God for his loving responses. It is reading the Bible together, studying it in order to penetrate further into the great thoughts of God's grace and love for us, our most holy faith. Is there any better stimulus to walk in love ourselves (Ephesians 5:1) ?

Let us pray through the Holy Spirit: Prayer is the breath of the soul as well as that of a Christian community. Christians, filled with the love of God, draw on that love to intercede with one accord on behalf of their brethren in Christ, especially those in difficult circumstances. They also pray that many unbelievers will repent and come to a knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life : Waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ who will call us to meet him and lead us into eternal bliss, this is Christian hope. It reminds us that God, in his love, does not limit himself to forgiving our sins ; he wants to fill us with a fulness of joy with Christ eternally in heaven.

A plant without sun withers and withers. So, let us warm up to the love of God ! It is to this extent that our love for others will abound and even superabound.
