Not stupid the fish !

Luke 5.5 - Simon answered him : “Master, we have worked all night without taking anything ; but, at your word, I will cast the net”.

You probably all know the story of the miraculous catch. However, there is one detail that surprised me. You know there is no such thing as a coincidence with God ! Now, the night before the day Simon and Jesus met, the fish were not where they were supposed to be ! Surprising, isn't it ? Especially since the next day they were in deep water instead of being on the shores of the lake ! Weird this affair !

I can only see one explanation : God spoke to them and they obeyed. They did things that were unusual for them. This is not all that surprising since ravens obeyed the injunction to bring bread and meat to the prophet Elijah (1 Kings 17.4). Another large fish obeyed the command to swallow the prophet Jonah and "vomit" him on a beach (Jonah 2:10).

Without being contemptuous, a fish... it's not very smart ! And yet, with his tiny brain, he heard the voice of God and decided to obey Him. From there, there is only one step to say that the one who does not obey the Word of the Lord is less "smart" than a fish ! Less sane than a crow ! Less "wise" than a big fish !

I am teasing you beloveds, but it still takes some thought. I am serious here: not obeying the Word of God will always be synonymous with suffering ! It's not always easy, but practicing the Word is a lasting investment in something solid.
