    Death at the trail !

1 Samuel 18.11 - Saul raised his spear, saying to himself : "I will strike David against the wall." But David turned away from him twice.

Our beloved David, that's what his name means, came close to death several times before he became king. The fear he inspired in Saul drove him to try to kill him, but he did not succeed. As I reflected on this, I thought back to all those men of God who came close to death, a death that would have been synonymous with an aborted destiny.

Let us think of Moses who was to be put to death from his birth ; to Pierre who almost drowned ; to Paul who gives the details of his "troubles" in 2 Corinthians 11.23 to 26 ; and of course to our Lord, threatened with death from his birth and repeatedly during his earthly ministry.

This prompts me to the following reflection : If "death" is pursuing us, isn't that a sign that we have a great destiny ahead of us ? What if the devil had heard what God said in heavenly places about our life ? Couldn't that explain this relentless destruction, this unexplained flood of hatred, these gratuitous wickedness inflicted on certain children of God ?

Yes my beloveds, I am convinced that the devil goes after where he has good reason to do so. My encouragement would be this : keep your thoughts in mind what is in store for you when you have gone through the mess you are in today. If you persevere and hold on, the enemy of your soul will not be able to block the Lord's plan for your life. Perhaps a thousand times he has already whispered in your ear : "What is the point of continuing, the Lord does not love you, you will never get out, you are wasting your time...". He's the father of lies, isn't he ? So why listen to his stories ?

Whoever you are, the Creator of the universe created you for a purpose. You have been wanted, desired and meticulously prepared for a specific mission. The greater the difficulties, the more important the mission, do not forget.

    With all our affection.

    Good reflection.
