The spiders

How many are your works, O Eternal ! You did them all with wisdom. Psalm 104.24

I find the little spiders magnificent. I mean the small ones : one or two mm in diameter, legs included. These cannot bite us !

There are some 40,000 different species and subspecies around the world! You may have heard that the spider is a "successful" animal. Christians respond : “The Creator knew very well what he was doing in creating them ; and what it continues to do, by reproducing them. "

Among these critters, jumping spiders are really cute. My favorites ! I captured one and while gently holding it by its small hind legs I looked at it through a magnifying glass. I discovered then that she had eight eyes. Yes, four pairs of eyes, different sizes. She looked like she was staring at me and screaming : "What are you doing here, you monster, release me."

It will take a specialist to explain to us how these creatures can run so fast with their eight legs on their web without missing a step, sorry, a thread. And how their thread, so fine, is stronger than a thread of the same diameter made by men. Do you know that scientists try to produce it that has the same qualities ?

The next time you see one of these little beasts in your home, don't run over it. Then reflect on this wonder of creation. And to the Creator...
