Wonderful prospect

Humans, mortal beings cannot meet God face to face : "You will not be able to see my face, for man cannot see me and live", God said to Moses (Exodus 33:20). This is precisely what makes the Incarnation of Jesus Christ such an extraordinary event. Although no man has ever seen God, "The Only Begotten, who is in the bosom of the Father, is he who made him known" (John 1:18). Jesus Christ took the form of a man, and dwelt among us (John 1:14). God the Son has left his heavenly home. He came to our world to redeem us from the bondage of sin, and to take us with him to heaven. Freed from sin, we will see the glory of God unveiled in its fullness. This vision will surpass all earthly wonders known or imaginable. For the faith of the Christian this is a glorious prospect. He will see his Lord face to face (1 Corinthians 13. 12).

The Bible reveals how these events will unfold : "For the Lord himself, at a given signal, at the voice of an archangel, and at the sound of the trumpet of God, will come down from heaven, and the dead in Christ will be raised first. Then, we who are alive, who will remain, will all together be caught up with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we will always be with the Lord" (1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17).
