Lord, speak to me !

Isaiah 55.8 - For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

Nothing is more normal to want to hear God speak to us. Our relationship with God is not a monologue where we talk to Him all the time, but it is a dialogue. God speaks to his people and to each of his children in particular and this is wonderful, He is a living God ! Hallelujah !

To speak to us, God uses different ways. God speaks sometimes in one way, sometimes in another, yet we are told in the Word that man does not take heed (Job 33.14). It is up to us then, when we want to hear the voice of God, to be attentive to what He is going to say to us because He will not always use the way we think. However, the first thing God uses to speak to His children is His Word. How many children of God wait for a Word from God but never open the written Word ?

Some directions that we need are written in black and white in this one and God will never say the opposite of what He Himself wrote. Too often we have a strong opinion and delve into the Bible to find verses that match that opinion. However, the reverse must happen ! We must immerse ourselves in the Word of God and let it do its work of transformation in us, transformation of our intelligence, our thought and our opinions.
