The world upside down !

2 Corinthians 11:7 (Word of Life) – When I announced the good news of God to you, I did it without charge ; I lowered myself in order to elevate you. Was I wrong to do so ?

At the time of the New Testament, the "discoureurs", that is to say the Masters, the philosophers, the teachers... lived on the gifts of those who listened to them. It was common practice. But Paul, did not want to receive the goods of the Corinthians so that nothing would come to alter his message. At times, he worked at night to support himself and he evangelized during the day.

The upside down world is that profiteers, false apostles, took advantage of the Corinthians and in addition, they accused Paul of not being a true apostle because he did not ask for anything. And a number of the disciples begin to despise Paul...

Why are we talking about this ? Because the same thing is happening again today. On the one hand, you have "ministries" who skin their sheep, who live in luxury, who are haughty, arrogant and smug, who "sell" prophecies, prayers to the sick, blessings... and who are adored, applauded, venerated. On the other side, you have "servants" who want to keep the Lord's command : "You have received freely, give freely !" (Matthew 10:8). They have this code of honor not to let themselves be corrupted and they know how to live modestly. They are despised, mocked, ignored... There is no consideration for them and they are treated like minions.

Paul said : “We weary ourselves working with our own hands ; insulted, we bless ; persecuted, we endure ; calumniated, we speak kindly ; we have become like the sweepings of the world, the scum of all, until now” (1 Corinthians 4:12 and 13). Reading these words, who are the real "Servants of God" ?
